Give a WikiTribute to the special people in your life
WikiTribute is a warm-fuzzy wiki that should make you feel better about humanity by showing the best, rather than the worst. Every one of us is important to someone, and perhaps every one of us should have a page here. This is a place to let people create pages for people should be noticed for what they do or have done, but in the scheme of the world are probably unnoticed. The real idea behind all of it is to see how everyone is connected or affected by these people, or to be able to hit 'random page' and read about someone amazing.
Dedication
Julia Burke, who was an amazing person to begin with, died tragically and as a result, her mother started the The Julia Burke Foundation which supports things she had been interested in and the foundation has donated generously to those organizations and causes. Her life and passing are inexorably intertwined with the people in those organizations and many who knew her. This site was started so everyone can hear and share other stories like hers- about teachers, firemen, policemen, dads, moms, and anyone who should be noticed or remembered and to see how we are all connected.
WikiTribute is officially dedicated to the Burke family and Teressa Wickham.
Create A Page Today!
This site exists precisely because it does feel good to give a tribute to someone who means a lot to you or enabled you to become who you are. Things are a little rough around the edges, but only you can make it better! The site may be sparse right now, but it can only live up to its potential if everyone takes a chance and puts up pages for people they care about. This site is and will always be free, and while this site is new, webtrotter.org has been around for about a decade. This site will be around for a very long time and will flourish if even just a few people take the initiative and create a WikiTribute for someone special. Creating one is extremely simple and will make you feel good in doing so.
To create a page, just put the name of the person or organization in the search box and click 'Go' then click 'create it' if it doesn't already exist. If it does, just put more information in parenthesis after- for example: "John Doe (Anytown, NV)" or "John Doe (musician)" or "John Doe (bassist)". Once you click put in your text and click 'Save page' at the bottom, the page is done! Don't be ashamed to ask anyone for help, you can even ask me by editing my talk page. That's right, edit my page and add your question to the bottom then save it. I'll get an email and get back to you quickly.
