WikiTribute:Dedication

Julia Burke, who was an amazing person to begin with, died tragically and as a result, her mother started the The Julia Burke Foundation which supports things she had been interested in and the foundation has donated generously to those organizations and causes. Her life and passing are inexorably intertwined with the people in those organizations and many who knew her. This site was started so everyone can hear and share other stories like hers- about teachers, firemen, policemen, dads, moms, and anyone who should be noticed or remembered and to see how we are all connected.
Teressa Wickham is one of the main reasons this site exists. When Julia died, Teressa made it her mission to tell the world about her and to promote organ donation. I worked with her briefly to create an organ donation page, now sadly outdated despite a meager visual update a couple of years ago. Her zeal and compassion rubbed off and I have been devoted to preserving the memory of Julia and another friend, Adrienne Antonacci. Since that time, my desire to house other memories has grown, and despite a standing offer to host the material, no one has taken me up on it. This site is my effort to further that goal and to allow others to express themselves.
WikiTribute is officially dedicated to the Burke family and Teressa Wickham.
Although this particular site might not exist without Teressa or Mrs. Burke, it was when I was trying to create a page for Bob Athayde on Wikipedia that I had the idea to create this site. I would like to thank Bob Athayde for his unyielding confidence in me and his students which ultimately gave me the opportunities and experience to build the life I have today and for being the kind of person you create a website for. Bob is yet another testament to how one life can positively affect so many others.
Anyone who creates a page on this site to showcase someone special has been able to do so as a direct result of these people and their lives are directly intertwined with the legacy of Julia Burke and the goodwill of Bob Athayde.
